Rotary International donates 30 wheelchairs

Rotary International donated books and 30 wheelchairs on 24 March 2010.

Addressing the recipients of the wheelchairs, the Executive Mayor of Westonaria, Maserame Khumalo said  when government and the private sector work together the lives of ordinary residents can be changed for the better.

"The donation of wheelchairs will make the lives of the elderly and the disabled easier. I urge the recipients to take good care of the wheelchairs. There will be constant monitoring done on the recipients that they take responsibility for their wheelchairs."

When handing over the wheelchairs, Marlene Martin from Rotary International said their organisation will continue to work with Westonaria Local Municipality in the near future as they have identified the need for wheelchairs for children.
