Welcome to Westonaria Local Municipality
Westonaria is positioning itself to be Gauteng's town of choice. It is located within easy reach of two important routes in the formof R24 and the N12. it is strategically located to major towns in the province and is situated 45 kilometres away from Johannesburg and is easily accessible by both road and rail.
The town is situated amidst the gold fields of Gauteng. It is home to 110 000 residents and occupies 616km² of land mass. It is made up of the following areas: Bekkersdal, Glenharvie, Hillshaven, Leeudoorn, Libanon, Venterspost, Wagterskop, Waterpan, Westonaria and Zuurbekom.
As a developmental municipality, Westonaria Local Municipality is committed to eradicating poverty and unemployment.
