Merger proposal given a thumbs up
More than a thousand residents of Greater Westonaria met with the Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB), and supported its proposed merger with Randfontein Municipality during the public hearing meeting.
The purpose for the hearing was to give residents an opportunity to air their views and inputs. Nearly thirty (30) people, who expressed their opinions, supported the merger.

R7, 496 million road construction project handed over in Simunye
The three (3) km long Boitumelo road which has a storm water channel was completed recently and was officially handed by Westonaria Local Municipality to the community. It links Extension 3 and 5.

Joy As Council Repairs Street Lights
To ensure availability of functioning street lights and to address crime, council is currently repairing street lights along Neptune to R28 road.
